"Changing Lives Through Love"
“God is light; In him there is no darkness...”
[1 John 1:5]
It is said you can have too much of a good thing. This may be true as it pertains to things that feed the flesh like ice cream. However you can never have too much of the things that feed the spirit and nothing feeds our soul better than the love of God. Welcome to the webpage of Lincoln UMC. Our church is a congregation whose purpose is found in our mission: Changing Lives Through Love. God created all humanity through the power of Love. Love is what makes it possible for us to have a relationship with God. Love is what makes it possible to love ourselves because we affirm our sacred value. Love is what makes it possible for us to Love you, not because we know you but because you are known and loved by God. We believe that Love is not just an empty platitude found on greeting cards and flowery sermons. Love is a free expression of our humanity as we enjoy the grace of God by sharing unconditional Love with each other. We are guided by biblical principles as understood through the lens of Love expressed in the redeeming sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
Galatians 5:6 (NIV)6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.
We hope you enjoy the information found on this platform. Moreover we look forward to meeting you in person so we can express our love of God by loving you just because you are you.
Please join us! This Sunday Pastor George will complete the four-part sermon series on Faith.
The series will flow as the following:
February 7 What is Faith?
February 14 Faithful or faithless your choice
February 21 Faith and miracles
February 28 By Faith what is our story?
Pastor George: I look forward to our time of fellowship and growing together. We will continue to worship both on-line and in person, so please choose the options that best meets your needs. Please know I miss seeing you physically, but I understand the abundant safety precautions we must all take. So, as we meditate on Psalm 48, I love how it ends with an undeniable truth that will encourage our souls.
Psalm 48:14 (NKJV) For this is God,
Our God forever and ever;
He will be our guide
Even to death
